Solutions

  • Goal Setting and Performance Feedback Course

Everyone experiences the need to accomplish a difficult task by means of either influencing the behavior of others or changing their own behavior. The most effective way to accomplish this task is to establish goals or objectives, communicate expected behavior, give frequent/specific feedback and reward accomplishments.

Goal Setting and Performance Feedback is particularly effective for organizations incorporating the “team” concept in their management structure. It is designed to give team members and leaders the opportunity to learn effective methods for giving and receiving feedback directed at team members’ personal performance. This establishes the value of goal setting - providing direction in how to be more effective in this activity.

  • Coaching and Counseling Course

Coaching is the ongoing process of employee development through regular
performance feedback. If expectations are being met, positive feedback can be used to
further motivate an employee to even higher levels of performance.

Counseling can be used to assist an employee in achieving a satisfactory level of
performance prior to corrective action procedures. Determining the expectations of the
employee as well as the leader can help define and overcome some of the barriers to
    desired performance levels.

Advanced Management offers the Everything DiSC® 363 for Leaders Assessment to better customize the course to the clients needs.

  • Effective Supervision Course

Many organizations promote high performing workers into supervisory roles without any knowledge of their leadership skills or without formal training in effective supervision. This program will provide an overview of the skills needed for effective supervision.

Concepts are introduced that describe the process, purpose and function of supervision, including methods of appraising performance, motivation in the workplace, delegation and direction giving, and employee development. An examination of the different managerial styles allows participants to better understand supervisory tendencies and how to improve on their own practices.

Wiley’s Everything DiSC Work of Leaders Profile® is used as a self-assessment tool to aid in participant understanding of their own preferred style of leadership.

  • Facilitative Leadership Skills Course

The effectiveness of work groups depends on how well the relationships within the groups are managed. The effectiveness of the organization depends on how well the interrelationships between the work groups are managed. As organizations move toward a more participative approach to management, it becomes increasingly important to understand the impact of work groups and how to effectively lead these groups. This program is designed to explore the issues of leadership within the group and to improve the participant’s leadership capabilities.

A variety of self-assessment options are available to enhance the leadership class. The Everything DiSC 363 for Leaders®, Everything DiSC Work of Leaders®, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator© are all excellent activities for self-discovery of leadership attributes.

  • Interpersonal Communication Skills Course

Creating cooperative teams and managing problematic relationships requires more than clever communications. Understanding how communication operates in our daily lives gives us a better picture of our relationships. Everything we do in life requires that we engage in the process of communication. People are more successful in business and in life when they communicate effectively.

Interpersonal Communication Skills is an in-depth look at interpersonal communications - the communication process, the elements of communication, and the benefits of strong relational skills. The class is built on five modules: Communication Process, Role of the Self, Listening, Perception, and Conflict.

Self-assessments that can be used to enhance this program include the Everything DiSC® Workplace profile, Personal Listening Profile®, and Thomas-Kilman Conflict Management Questionnaire (TKI).

  • Train the Trainer Course

Advanced Management, Inc. customizes Train-The-Trainer programs in several topical areas. These classes are designed to teach participants how to develop and deliver training packages where they already have content knowledge.

All managers, supervisors, advisors and others with positions of influence and authority in organizations must know how to train others. This program will develop and enhance the necessary skills to train effectively, and equip trainers with the skills to handle specialized and difficult situations.
