About Us

Denise Ryan Firestar Speaking
Everything DiSC Firestarter Denise Ryan, MBA, CSP

Tired of boring presentations with endless power point slides? For almost 20 years, Denise Ryan has ignited audiences with her tell-it-like-it-is style and her humor. She is an author, an MBA and a CSP (Certified Speaking Professional), a designation of excellence held by less than 10% of professional speakers.

Her programs have been heard by audiences across North America – clients include Hilton Hotels, IBM, and the US Department of Homeland Security. And her topics range from "How to Get Along with Everyone Who is not You" to "Motivation by Chocolate." She recently made Meeting & Convention Magazine’s list of planners’ favorite speakers alongside Bill Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, and Anderson Cooper.

One of her favorite audience member reviews:
“I have been in Sales & Marketing for over 25 years and have heard and seen some great speakers and presenters. I have to say, you were one of the best. Your presentation was excellent, it was motivating, uplifting and downright entertaining and let me not forget funny as all get out.”

  • I’ve heard a lot of speakers all over the country and I would say that Denise Ryan is the best I’ve ever heard. She was so energetic, engaging, and entertaining. The information was so relevant and everyone walked away feeling like they could implement some of the tips that she gave us. I would hire her again and again!

  • Thank you for being so inspirational at the Lead SC Summit. If I could describe your presentation in one word, it would be “wow!” Thank you for sharing your success and failures. I feel many leaders try to sugarcoat, but your openness made you seem more real, so I thank you. You are full of life and your happiness is contagious.

  • The results are in and they are GREAT! Your average rating from the survey results was 4.88 out of 5. This is the highest speaker score we have ever had. I have attached all the comments made from the attendees for your review. They were anonymous surveys so I can’t tell you who it was that wants to marry you 🙂 . Thanks for your outstanding work.

Our Solutions

  • How to Communicate with Everyone Who is Not You

Life would be so easy if everyone we interacted with was just like us. They would understand our cryptic e-mail messages, forgive our bizarre text messages, and understand why we unfriended them on Facebook. There would be no hard feelings, no conflict, and clearly, world peace. Unfortunately, no one else is exactly like you and to succeed in life and business, you have to work with the crazy, the angry, the silly, and yes, even the smarter and more articulate. This session will help you do just that. You will learn about barriers to communication and how to remove them. You’ll take the Everything DiSC assessment and find out just how different a large portion of the world really is and how to communicate more effectively with them. And you’ll even improve your listening skills (not that anyone has better ideas than you, but they might have more information). People won’t stop being crazy, but this session will help you stay sane.

  • Disagreement is Not Disaster - How to Turn Conflict into Better Results

Conflict can actually produce better results. This program teaches how.
    1) You begin by determining what you focus on in conflict and how it differs from what others might focus on.
    2) You recognize which of the 18 destructive responses you tend to have when there’s a difference of opinion. Here are a few: belittling, drama, defensiveness, exaggerating, caving in, sarcasm, passive-aggression. I’m not including actual murder, but you get the drift.
    3) You learn techniques to respond differently and to understand others’ destructive responses. Part of the program is identifying and dealing with automatic thoughts and knee-jerk reactions. (You’ll be surprised how much insight you’ll gain.)
    4) You become aware of the conversation you’re having and the one each of you thinks you’re having.
    5) You rock the conflict by using one of 16 productive responses to defuse situations. You become immortal.
