Alan Feirer, Group Dynamic

Alan Feirer founded Group Dynamic to help people get more work done and have less stress due to stronger leaders and tighter teams. He is known for high energy illustrations and presentations, customized and actionable content, and ongoing accountability support. He provides these services to work groups of all sizes — from individual team members to the whole crew.

He is an Authorized Partner with Everything Disc® and The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team®, which provide the basis for some of his content, in combination with rich personal experience and a background in servant leadership. Your organization’s unique challenges, time constraints, and setting will help determine what he can do for you.

  • Team Development with the DiSC Assessment

    In this five-hour session, build your team with Everything DiSC Workplace®. Everything DiSC Workplace focuses on discovering your DiSC style, understanding other styles, and building more effective relationships. Alan will email participants an access code to complete the DiSC Profile prior to the training session. The reports provide an extensive, personalized interpretation of your DiSC Profile, including motivating factors, preferred environment, behavioral tendencies in conflict, and strategies for increasing effectiveness. Through interactive exercises, participants will learn how and when to adapt their behavior, which will improve communication, reduce conflict, and enhance individual and team performance. As follow-up performance support, participants will receive an email series supporting the content.   • Improve One-on-One Management Effectiveness with DiSC for Managers

    In this seven-hour session, equip your managers with Everything DiSC Management®. Participants learn how to read the styles of the people they manage. The result is managers who adapt their styles to manage more effectively. The Everything DiSC Management Outline includes: Your DiSC Management Style; Directing and Delegating; Improving Employee Motivation; Employee Development; and Working with Your Manager. As follow-up performance support, participants will receive an email series supporting the content.   • Communication for Connection

    Three major obstacles to connection in communication will be explored: 1) Maturity in the moment/ self-focus rather than team focus; 2) Personality styles; 3) Lack of being specific, both in terms of assuming motives, and in choosing words. Participants will learn words to use, words to avoid, and methods for providing feedback that get more immediate connection. This session will be interactive, fun, and practical, and the methods learned can be used right away. Implement plans to improve practice by capitalizing on strengths and addressing weaknesses. As follow-up performance support for this session, your team will receive a series of emails on the subject of communication. These follow-up e-mails will serve as a reminder to help keep the concepts you learned during the workshop at the front of your mind. They will contain different depictions of the topics we discussed, links to blog posts and videos, as well as ways to evaluate yourself on each practice.

  • Leadership Development with DiSC for Leaders

    In this seven-hour session, develop your leaders with Everything DiSC Work of Leaders®. This classroom training uses online pre-work, engaging facilitation with contemporary video, and online follow-up to create a personalized learning experience. Based on best practices, Work of Leaders connects unique leadership styles to real-world demands, generating powerful conversations that provide a clear path for action. Using the simple framework of Vision, Alignment, and Execution, Work of Leaders encourages leaders to understand their own leadership styles and how they impact their effectiveness. As follow-up performance support, participants will receive an email series supporting the content. Also, they will get free accounts for, where they can learn more and/or request comparison reports with co-workers.

  • Strategic Thinking Shortcuts

    We can all think of situations when we spent too much time for too few results on strategic analysis, goal-setting, and action-planning. What if we could spend a fraction of that time on processes that generate measurable short-term results? We can. In the process, we can see change sooner, experience the satisfaction that our time was well-spent, and know we’re on the right track. At the end of this session, participants will be able to effectively implement the WWW/TALA tool for after-action event or project analysis; describe, use and prescribe the MT goal format – the shorter version of the SMART goal format which yields 80% the same results; and use quick techniques for addressing stuck or neglected action plans quickly and effectively. Following a strategic workshop, participants will (upon request) receive a series of emails on the subject of after-action analysis and goal-setting. There will also be two reminder emails regarding your specific goals.

  • The Psychology of Change

    As leaders, you’ve likely developed skills at being proactive and reactive, but times of change call for leadership to be interactive. Changes in the workplace must be handled delicately, with added emphasis on intentional words and actions. Stages of the change curve include Denial, Frustration, Depression, Experiment, Decision, and Integration. This workshop will help people learn what is precisely needed at each stage and how to offer it. When people are in Denial, they need to understand alignment. When they are in Frustration, they need more information. When they are in Depression, they need motivation. This will be an interactive and upbeat workshop designed to empower and equip you with tools to successfully navigate in a changing environment. Delivery will be fast-paced, high-energy, and combine story, discussion, and activity to answer the question: “How do I put this into action?”

  • Servant Leadership

    No one can lead unless they are acting at a higher level of maturity and selflessness than those they are leading. If the fundamental role of the leader is to “meet needs”, then the question becomes, “how do I put this into action?” In this session, you will learn the principles of Alan’s Eight Component Leadership Model to help you move leadership theory into actionable content, and start leading - not by control, but by meeting needs. With content that is research-based and proven in the real world, delivery will be fast-paced and high-energy, combining storytelling, discussion, and activity. Participants will (optionally) receive performance support following this session, including high-quality, color job aids – these depict the key concepts discussed in the workshop for easy review and ongoing development – personalized weekly emails to help keep the concepts learned during the workshop at the front of your mind, and the Group Dynamic Simple 360.

  • Easy Ways to Improve Your Presentation and Networking Skills

    Leaders are often called upon to speak up in meetings, facilitate, or even present to groups on a larger scale. Would you like more confidence when called upon to present information, formally or informally? Maybe you would like to be above-average when it comes to personal interaction, or have a competitive edge and be more memorable? In this session, learn 6 simple pointers to help you have more confidence when presenting to others. Additionally, we’ll review simple, and effective techniques for networking. Even skilled presenters have trouble networking, because of misconceptions about the process, or inexperience in building a network. If networking is about connecting with others for our own needs, it doesn’t work. When networking is about making sure that we know about all the resources we can discover, whether they benefit us right now or not, it works for everyone. With just a couple of good habits in mind, you can navigate networking situations smoothly.

  • Everything DiSC Productive Conflict

    This solution will help DiSC® learners effectively respond to the uncomfortable and inevitable challenges of workplace conflict. Designed to help curb destructive behaviors so that conflict can become productive, the program ultimately improves workplace relationships and business results.

    This program will focus on:
    • How personality style can dictate whether a person engages or restrains during tense discussions.
    • An overview of why people will engage in specific behaviors, and how to push past them.
    o These include: arguing, belittling, caving-in, defensiveness, dismissing opinions, drama, exaggerating, exclusion, finger-pointing, gossiping, hypercriticism, overpowering, passive-aggression, revenge, sabotage, sarcasm, stonewalling, and withdrawing.

Everything DiSC Workplace Certification is your best resource to gain foundational knowledge and tools for facilitating Everything DiSC. Designed with your busy schedule in mind, this online course gives you the flexibility of self-paced learning, paired with live-collaborative sessions led by Wiley’s expert trainers.

Increase your confidence and competence in delivering Everything DiSC Workplace in your organization. This course offers rigorous new content on the principles of the DiSC® model and the supporting research. During the live sessions, you will practice facilitating small groups and explore challenging scenarios that could arise during workshops. You’ll also learn how to keep Everything DiSC alive within your organization by creating a culture of DiSC and explore MyEverythingDiSC, the mobile-friendly, interactive learning portal that is exclusive to Everything DiSC.

This program Includes:

  • Four modules of self-directed and live collaborative learning (each requiring three to five hours of time per week), conducted over a four week period
